I believe strongly in making sure my own child eats as little processed food filled with preservatives and chemicals as possible. I also understand picky eaters!!! I'm hoping we can discuss ideas for how to handle snack time at school.
I encourage parents to send a healthy snack that their child can eat easily at school for a mid-morning snack. I also appreciate any parent who would like to donate some snacks for those children who need a snack and weren't able to bring a snack to school that day.
Remember, due to the increase of awareness of food allergies, our school does not participate in birthday treats. You are welcome to send in a "non-food" treat if you like.
It is also a good idea to teach your child the importance of washing hands. Washing hands often will help decrease the spread of germs and keep any of our friends with food allergies safer.
Feel free to post your thoughts/suggestions/resources for healthy snacks!
